I would not have customized the axe since it loses all trade value to other traders.

I would have told the original axe seller "This axe cost me 1 uber shadow bow + 11k + plenty of time. Unless you're willing to double that price, the axe has a happy new home and won't be moving until you pay the requested amount." If he threatens to have you banned, then instruct him on how to create a screen shot, then give him ANET's e-mail address. Be as helpful as possible He'll soon realize he's just lining himself up in front of his own firing squad.

Never let the other guy get under your skin... always play it cool, and you'll be happy with whatever choice you make.

Exactly. One more reason, I'm not trying to get a profit out of it, I'm actually using the bloody thing. I can say "bloody", right?

Well I tried to play it cool till I actually got disconnected and couldn't reconnect. My mind really started racing at that point.

Now I think we can all agree it was just an eerie coincidence, and not him actually calling upon his so-called "friends at Anet" (I mean, seriously).

Lol he was asking for his axe back after you traded him a 14% always bow, lmao. I doubt he sold it to merchant anyway, he prolly just wants it back to do the same thing to other people.

Every time I lose connectivity, I simply reboot my cable modem and router. Hasn't failed to fix the problem yet =)

ANET's GW servers are built on what appears to be a Windows clustered server environment, so you should never get a connection interruption unless

1) It's a planned outage or maintenance period
2) new unstable patch was just introduced
3) your ISP is having issues

Can you tell I work in I.T.?

Maybe he should have gotten his mommy to ask you for the axe.

Hehe

Yeah, I guess it just caught me off guard. I just really don't get disconnected all that often. I'm talking maybe once a month (maybe I'm just lucky). And the thing that disturbed me especially, was that I didn't get an error message. It just disconnected me. And when I tried to reconnect, same thing.

Worked again a few minutes later. Enough to make me a few years older. :P

the term for this is "no backsies". he traded the axe for the bow and the money, what he did with both is none of your business and none of your concern. if he chose to salvage the bow and spend the money on dwarven ale, that's his business. and i wouldn't be too worried about being blackballed, people that act like this usually travel in large groups of one.

I wouldn't have given him his axe back either. Firstly, there's no way to tell if he DID actually sell the bow to the merchant. I smell a scammer trying to get money out of you by playing on your sympathy.

Secondly, even if he DID sell the bow, there's no reason why you have to give it back to him. The transaction was completed, and there's no refund policy. If you were feeling generous, you could have given him the 4k and tell him to be satisfied with that. That's more than he'll ever get from 99% of the GW population.

He reminds me of those people who yell and swear at you for not giving them a gold item that dropped for YOU on a mission. I just laugh at people like that.

Him: "Give me my axe back!"
ME: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!!"

Errors on both parties. He shouldn't have been... well, a child. But the OP could have responded better, as he admitted. But I don't think the acts of either side warrant reporting.

Boy, this guy sounds like he has the brain of a turnip. Must not know what the word trade means, should have offered him a dictionary. And as far as you getting banned, maybe like a .00001 chance. I have gone off alot worse than this on some idiot, and my account still stands.

I cannot stand retards like this, threatening to try to get you banned for his stupidity. I would have went berserk, sent him crying to mommy. Should have just typed hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahhahahahaha............Hey check out this sweet axe I just got. That would have done it for him.

lol...

This thread is by FAR the funniest I have ever read.

I am in Bio-Chem over at McGill, so most people I hang out with are really smart, which clouded my mind to how stupid people can actually be.

He traded an Axe for your Bow and 4000 gold pieces. Then HE makes the mistake of trading HIS Bow to the merchant. Now he wants your Axe back? Plus 11k? What??? How the... ??? What???

Is his mentally sane when he asked for that? I have seen some dumb people in Guildwars... BUT NONE comparable to him.

To the Idiot who wanted his Axe back:

You make a mistake BIG DEAL !!! You deleted your Character, BIG DEAL. I don't care WHAT you did... You are sololy responsable for it. Go take Intro to Law 101. Why are you so dumb? What are you smoking?

Even if in some alternate universe in which IT IS AGREEABLE that Idiots be protected from their actions, THE PERSON YOU TRADE WITH IS IN NO POSITION TO CLEAN UP YOUR MESS. If you lost a hand during your construction job, do you go to a bank and ask for money? NO. Same logics, he is not related to you in ANYWAY. The Deal is done. (Period)

Let's ASSUME in this alternate universe, in which deals are not sealed for 1 week. EVEN THEN, in order for you to ask for you Axe back, YOU NEED TO give him the Bow and his 4k back as well. You Can't Just Ask For Stuff "BACK" without giving something "BACK". Capisco? MY GOD !!!

Anyways, remember Anet do not back up people of little intelligence. His threats are empty.
